Professor Ashraf El-Araby, President of the Institute of National Planning (INP), received Mr. Alessandro Fracassetti, former Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), on the occasion of the end of his term of office in Egypt.
Professor El-Araby expressed his sincere appreciation for the productive and constructive partnership between INP and UNDP, which yielded several successful initiatives in training, consulting, applied research, and policy studies. He emphasized that this collaboration represents a successful model for partnership between national institutions and international organizations.
He highlighted Mr. Fracassetti’s professionalism and dedication throughout his tenure, which significantly enhanced INP’s role at both the national and regional levels through impactful projects that supported institutional capacity-building and policy effectiveness.
Mr. Fracassetti, in turn, expressed his pride in the strong partnership with INP, praising its national expertise and academic excellence. He highlighted the Monitoring and Evaluation Diploma Program, jointly implemented in both Arabic and English for the first time, targeting professionals from government, the private sector, and civil society. The program reflects a strategic commitment to building sustainable national capacity in monitoring, evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making.
He also commended INP’s contributions through joint studies and consultations addressing key economic and human development issues in Egypt, describing them as a valuable input to the country’s development efforts.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continuing and expanding this fruitful cooperation in alignment with Egypt’s national priorities and development vision.
At the end of the meeting, Professor El-Araby presented Mr. Fracassetti with INP’s commemorative shield in appreciation of his valuable contributions, wishing him continued success in his future endeavors.
